To Our Valued Customers,
As the Coronavirus evolves, Tempus Nova is committed to supporting our customers during the COVID-19 crises, adhering to the CDC’s guidance for businesses and employees, and ensuring continued continuity of operations.
We would like to provide some timely and helpful information to our customers about how the Google platform can be leveraged to help your employees who are working from home, support global efforts, and protect public health. Please feel free to share this information. Tempus Nova has provided Chromebooks to our employees who are working from home so they can continue to support our customers and be productive. We are also helping customers locate and purchase Chromebooks which are in high demand. This is especially true for organizations that rely on contact with the public such as schools, healthcare organizations, and local branches of the Department of Corrections that need to ensure inmates maintain their right to visitors.
To obtain the latest and most accurate information about the Coronavirus, Google has launched an SOS Alert on Google Search, designed to help users who search for ‘’coronavirus’ or ‘COVID-19’ to rapidly understand the developments surrounding the virus and decide on appropriate action to take. As a result, when people search for these terms, they will see “Top stories” updated with helpful links to information and safety tips from authoritative sources. These SOS Alerts are now available in more than 20 languages.
Across the Google products, enforcement guidelines have been updated to prohibit low-quality content from surfacing on Coronavirus or COVID-19 queries. These queries are focused on delivering content from high-quality, authoritative sources more prominently. How Google Fights Disinformation provides additional background on how concerns are managed with respect to information quality.
An information panel was launched on YouTube covering the Coronavirus topic which points users to information published by the World Health Organization (WHO). The information panel is available in English, Arabic, French, and Spanish; it appears on the YouTube Search results page for Coronavirus queries and includes associated videos. In order to reach more users with up-to-date information about Coronavirus, localized information panels in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Germany, and Italy have also been launched with additional efforts to explore rolling out localized information panels in additional countries. Google has also updated its global policies related to the Coronavirus and will take appropriate action against content that discourages people from seeking medical treatment or promotes dangerous remedies or cures in place of seeking medical treatment. We encourage everyone to report inappropriate content.

Google and Tempus Nova continue to work with federal, state and local governments to help them connect with citizens and returning travelers from impacted regions. For example, in Singapore, the Google Cloud team worked with the government to implement a chatbot on their website that helps answer citizens’ most common questions. In the United States, the New York State Department of Health built a solution powered by Google Cloud for connecting with impacted travelers and providing communications on health information. Under a multi-year agreement, Google Cloud has become MLB’s official cloud services, data and analytics partner for business operations, including Statcast, the automated service that analyzes player performance and abilities.
